Make Dental Hygiene Part of your Beauty Routine

The beauty industry is undeniably one of the fastest growing industries worldwide. Wherever you look, there’s something to be said, written and read about new products and innovations that we must get our hands on. Hellooo? The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer! However, that’s a story for a different day…

When shopping for the latest matte lip, we must also be conscious that our dental hygiene fits within our beauty routines too and make time for it daily.

You may remember a few years ago when oil pulling became the new hot at-home-beauty-treatment. It brings an array of health benefits, however make sure to research it first. I gave it a try back in 2013, but quickly stopped, it became a bit much to handle. I was pulling every morning and I think I quite literally became bored with it. Now I only pull on the weekends when I have more time in the morning; it also helps if you keep your mind busy. I like to make the bed, feed my animals and do some general organizing so that I can get through it without gagging.

I take a spoonful of coconut oil, you can use sesame oil as well, though I prefer to use that oil to remove stubborn makeup; swish and pull the oil for 20-30 minutes. After spitting it out in the trash bin; (you don’t want coconut oil to dry up in your drain pipes) I rinse with salt water and brush my teeth with the Brio Smartclean Sonic Toothbrush

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been a manual toothbrush type mostly your whole life and that’s just not cool. Get out of the prehistoric age and join the rest of us, where there’s vibrations and different control settings.

I started out only thinking about making the move to sonic toothbrushes. I didn’t want to fully commit yet, so I tried a few of the disposable drugstore brands for testing purposes. Needless to say, I loved it and I can’t imagine going back to manual. It was only after I figured I needed to fully commit to this new relationship that I tried one of the popular sonic brands. I was a bit disappointed in the fact that yes, it was sonic and fun, but it just wasn’t the power that I needed. I was a girl about higher standards and I really couldn’t settle for just any ordinary sonic toothbrush.

Enter Brio. Hello Lover.

Brio had everything I was looking for and more. He was charming, lovable and most of all had features that kept me happy every time we hung out. Brio has a two-minute timer that allows for me to brush the suggested amount of time. Sometimes I rush and others, I stay stuck for longer than needed watching TV through my bathroom mirror. The timer keeps me in check, and I like that in a toothbrush.

The brush also keeps true to it’s description, as listed on the website. It helps with overly aggressive brushing, which used to be a habit of mine, but now I’m happy to report that we’ve made our relationship Instagram official, so you know it’s serious.
